This summer throw caution to the wind and send your kids to Camp Baldwin!
Opened in 1908 as a refuge for victims of Spanish Influenza it was later converted to a youth summer camp that specialized in the manufacture of machine parts and industrial solvents. Over the years the laws changed and so did Camp Baldwin, becoming Upstate New York’s premier children’s summer camp (in its price range).
Today dozens of children enjoy the camp’s many activities, including:
- Canoeing!
- Hiking!
- Crafts!
- Learning about the ancient Indian burial ground that sits beneath the campgrounds that has absolutely been made completely inert by a bishop!
- Storytelling!
A note on the “incident” of so long ago
Many people have tried to forget the awful events that occurred so many years ago (It’s hard to remember when it all happened – two years ago? Three?) We at Camp Baldwin want to assure you that we have taken many positive steps in ensuring it never happens again:
- We have installed high-wattage security lamps in the perimeter of the campgrounds
- Our camp counselors are FORBIDDEN from engaging in “saucy” behavior or imbibing any mind-altering substances.
- Our first – and most popular! – group activity is small arms training and tactics.
Parents, rest assured your children are in adequate hands!
